A little break from the harbors series – last Saturday (2010-07-24) was the third World Wide Photo Walk, the first for me to take part. Exciting to know there were 1111 walks all over the world with a whopping 31960 registered walkers, all enjoying photography and each others’ company on the same day! I chose to take part in Almere because I’d never been there before: Jantheo was the ‘leader’ and had devised a route with the theme ‘color’. So much fun to see that even before we had reached our target area, people were shooting off in all directions, finding color and doing their own ‘thing’: the modern architecture could wait, there was water, and plants, and wall paintings, and – well – photographers! :)
In close-up, the striking red ‘lines’ of this new office building appear like ‘fins’ sticking out from the glass wall surface. A selection of two more shots (out of many).
Here, with the polarization filter set to ‘allow’ reflections, the reflections of the ‘fins’ in the glass walls emphasize the red this building seems to be shouting out.

Ik vindt persoonlijk deze erg mooi springt er echt uit !!!!
Mvg, Erik
Dankje, Erik! Hij ‘springt’ vooral doordat door de spiegeling het rood zo versterkt wordt. :)
Ook bedankt voor de fave!

Great abstract shot, Marjolein! Very unusual and creative shot.
Thank you so much, Ritva! You are right, it’s almost abstract – I have a habit of ‘abstracting’ many things. :)

Great capture!
Sorry for the late reaction – I’m only finding this now.
Thank you for your lovely comment, Ainsley!

Wonderful ! Most eye catching with thos lovely red lines and reflected red
I thought it was fun to see how with the reflections the color red was ‘doubled’ (while in the next shot with reflections filtered out the lines are more emphasized as lines). Such a fun building to shoot. :)
Thank you, Michael!
