A little break from the harbors series – last Saturday (2010-07-24) was the third World Wide Photo Walk, the first for me to take part. Exciting to know there were 1111 walks all over the world with a whopping 31960 registered walkers, all enjoying photography and each others’ company on the same day! I chose to take part in Almere because I’d never been there before: Jantheo was the ‘leader’ and had devised a route with the theme ‘color’. So much fun to see that even before we had reached our target area, people were shooting off in all directions, finding color and doing their own ‘thing’: the modern architecture could wait, there was water, and plants, and wall paintings, and – well – photographers! :)

A pair of shots of the stairway in a parking garage. On the same stairway, the last few steps near the bottom are worn to a sheen – in spite of the holes this could be slippery! It’s obvious where most foot traffic is occurring. Light is falling on the steps through the landing just above – you can recognize the same type of pattern as in Sharp at the top but these shadows make it hard to see where you’re going – not a good combination with potentially slippery steps!
