This dog was waiting at the side entrance of a neighborhood mosque from the 18th-19th century, called Oy Binok (Oybinoq or Jome Mosque). He wasn’t moving: he looked at me fiddling with my camera, then looked at the gate again. As I walked past, he just stayed there, still looking at the gate.

Taken in Bukhara, Uzbekistan 2009
Camera: Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1

Poor dogs. All around the world they wait for their masters the same way. :)

  • :) I was struck by the fence and its shadow … and then noticed the dog, who just stayed there while I was trying to find the best framing for the shot – so he sort of became the focus of the image instead! I don’t shoot many animals…

Thanks for the nice comment, Larry!
