This really does belong to my “Dutch Bikes” series, though it may not immediately be apparent what it is.

It’s part of a chainguard which has fallen off a bike – the bike tracks going past it suggest its “owner” may have left it behind…

Part of my (small but growing) Look down! category.

(Slightly edited to enhance contrast and make it monochrome, which it practically was already.)

Taken in Amsterdam, Netherlands 2010
Camera: Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1

Geweldig! Je moet het maar zien!!!!

  • Dank voor de fave!

Het was “subliminal” – ik was er al een stap voorbij voor ik het echt zag, en stapte toen gauw weer terug. :) Wie weet het begin van een (sub)serie…

Got my vote, too, Marjolein! Always pays to look down.

  • Thank you Lynne!

I just got up and wondered why my neck hurt – until I realized that I did a lot of looking up yesterday during our excursion to an arts festival in Eindhoven (with good reason), but I still did get one look down shot as well. Can’t help myself. :)
