Watercolour: Rockmelon Vine in Turquoise by

Watercolour (mostly Winsor and Newton but also Irodori)
Arches, HP, 300gsm, 56 × 76cm
Original available, unframed $395 (framed $595). Free delivery in Southern Sydney.

More in my series of rockmelon vines. The source of my inspiration for this was a rockmelon vine that grew up from a seed from my compost. Eventually we ate the fruit but it wasn’t very sweet even if it looked perfect.

Beautiful work Marion. I get feelings of an expansive spatial realm ~ very ethereal, all is joyously and gently floating, mingling admidst a well lit starry night sky.

  • thanks for such a wonderful comment kerryn

This is marvelous, Marion! What talent you have, my friend! And Irodori paints are new to me – can you tell us a little about them? ~ Pat

  • thanks Pat! and sure, Holdbein Irodori make gouache and watercolour paints and a range called Antique watercolour that are superb. They are a little pricey but I got started on them as they had a competition which (believe it or not) I won with this painting on Fuchsias

Fabulous Marion. I`ve never heard of Irodori.

  • thanks Val! I’ve correct the name to say Holbein Irodori watercolours – they make a range called Antique watercolours and they colours are stunning. I used them here
