Collagraphic Leaves

Collagraphic Leaves

Collagraph
Viscosity 3 colours
Printed on BFKRives 280gsm off white

Printed this one at least a year ago and didn’t love it so i packed it away and found it recently and like it so much more now. I love to do that – pack away some art i am working on and let time go by before taking it out and reassessing how it’s going. Sometimes, i chuck it out and can’t believe that i thought it was worth keeping and sometimes, like this time, i am pleasantly surprised. Yeh!!

Lovely image, Marilyn. I’d love to know more about how you create your collagraphs.

  • Marion Chapman replied

Thanks Susan, collagraphs begin their lives as pieces of cardboard which you then add designs to with paper and cutaway too.

Nice one Marion. I am at the moment doing my first collage painting and it so much fun. I miss the collagraphing in the print room but once you are done you can begin to incorporate everything. SO I guess thats where Im at. This is good though. You are so busy these days.

  • Marion Chapman replied

Hi Billy, i so know what you mean. I sometimes wonder where i will go next after printmaking ‘cause i can’t imagine staying with it forever.

This is a gorgeous piece, Marion. I love the design and the wonderful choice of colours. It has a richness about it that I would love to see in a silk fabric.
