Luscious grape cluster ready for the Niagara wine region harvest, near Grimsby Ontario. It brings to mind the siren song ‘Peel Me A Grape’, one of David Frishberg’s best-known works. Diana Krall’s version is now the standard.
“Peel me a grape, crush me some ice
Skin me a peach, save the fuzz for my pillow
Talk to me nice, talk to me nice
You`ve got to wine and dine me …”
I will get to see David Frishberg in April 2011, when he comes to Toronto as part of JAZZFM’s songwriter series. I wonder if he will let us sing along on this one.
