I have been growing frogs , this is the second one to almost be a complete frog. It is so tiny not even two centimeters. The first one escaped once it turned fully, this one I let loose in a small fish pond. They shrink in size , the tadpole is bigger than the fully grown frog. There is one more left to fully develop.

    Neat hobby, great frog!

  • They aren’t very friendly. One more to go , now that I have them here they are here to stay. I wonder if the kookaburra will discover them and eat them instead of the gold fish.

Great shot! Love the colors and contrast!

  • Thanks Joanne, as I was watching the tadpoles changing, I was a bit worried that they might have been toads, but they are a very small variety of stripey frog, so I was pleased with that. All three have grown and are in a small pond where you never see them, so I was glad to have them from eggs and see what they were.

  • It is funny, they shrink down from a huge tadpole to a miniscule frog. At first I got a fright and thought they were a toad once they turned into the frog, but once you see them up close they are frogs.

Love this froggy! Good capture – Any left now?

  • Two are in the small black pond and the other one escaped when it was fully formed, so who knows where it is in the garden.

How big do these grow to be?
