Hi Sylvia, this is where I live.
– Marilyn Baldey
Wow, Marilyn. Gorgeous!
Thank you, it is just around the corner from my place, it is a tabletop mountain to the east but still in Toowoomba.
awesome (big smile)
Hello, thank you, this is near my home, you can see it from the lookout about 1k away.
beautiful photo – magical!
Thanks Helen, it was a magical afternoon there, it had been raining and I was driving back from Bris and had an urge to go there on the way home, hardly a detour, and I was very happy to be there at that time.
Toowoomba must be an Aboriginal name…it sounds as strange as our American Indian names. For instance one of the towns in Michigan is Ypsillanti. Bet that seems strange to you!
Toowoomba means, ‘where the water sits down’. The local tribes were Giabal and Jarowair people. There were swamps here aparantly, it is not particularly swampy now. It is a garden city known for the flower festival and great plants and is surrounded by farmland.
It’s so dreamy! Love the colours and mist.
It is just down the road from where I live, so on the way home after rain, I had the idea to go there and it was so amazing to see, actually I have so many photos of this day, it is hard to know which ones to put in here, only this one so far.
Marilyn, this is a gorgeous image!
Thanks, it is nice and soft, glad you liked it.
beautiful!! love this, the exposure on that fog is perfect ,outstanding use of your trees for framing
Thanks Christopher, it is a great place to go on a foggy day, I enjoy the fog I find it very interesting.
Great capture, beautiful tones.
Thanks, it is up the road from my place, it is really fun to see things in such a fog, very exciting.
So absolutely beautiful, I soooo love Toowoomba, I live in Brisbane. Regards Mel
It is pretty good at the moment, all the official gardens and the gardens or plants flowering down the streets. I used to live in Bris and seem to be going there heaps lately.
