'Bedraggled....'(poem attached)
As you dream of white linen sheets, your head cradled in safety and warmth
We with fancy duvets of colour, our so called, heritage born
Your tired spine needs rest tonight, you are not spineless,
twas not a chosen plight
Our heads coiffured our skin all bathed, our feet all raised in rested space
Yours so tired walked miles of streets…..cut and bruised…..not complete
You search for blankets or cardboard of warmth
We have pillow fights, night till dawn
Life can be so unfair at times Lessons learned, we hear your cries
What are we going to do about this
As we sleep in beds of bliss?
‘Our choice’ we say as we work hard
Your curse you say, no holds barred
We chose our bedroom tonight to sleep
You search for rest upon life’s streets
We hear your cries
Deaf ears to fall upon
I give up my bed…...in my head….
Intent..a gift…for you to just..belong.
Your choice of tune.
Ours of song, a prayer
for you – its a start
from our heart
to show we understand….......

What a moving image Angel – but always, your verse brings the message to life and touches our hearts. For to whom much is given, much will be required…and those of us who have more than enough ought always to remember the source of those blessings and share with others.
