The Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne
The trail is on the right. Aren’t the colors of the river amazing !
The Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne is the portion of the valley of the Tuolumne River in Yosemite National Park. As defined by the United States Geological Survey, it begins immediately below Tuolumne Meadows and ends immediately above Hetch Hetchy Valley.
The Tuolumne River runs as a somewhat wavy line from east to west. It originates in the high-altitude flatlands of Tuolumne Meadows, just west of the Sierra Nevada’s main divide.

Mar,
This is truly a great shot. I agree, the water is brilliant and a totally different color
than I’ve ever seen before. And you must be
about 12,000 feet in that you seem to <br />bethe ‘tree-line’.And, then, those mountains rise up from there. They must be huge!
I like the contrast of the green living things and the stark gray & white of the
rocks.
Nice pic, Mar.
You go girl !

what a beautiful capture ~ the way the river curves and sings in color, the traveling trees that line it and the rock just multi colored in pinks ~ what a spectacular backdrop of mountains ~ the expansive sense of this place ~ wonderful Marxx

Judging by the river banks this one must swell to 5-6 feet with the Spring runoff. Looks like a great place for filming a cowboy movie. Lovely photo Mar.

This is soooooo beautiful!I love how the green of the trees is repeated in the water and the rest of the scenery is on the white side! Almost like nature using selective coloring! :-)
Just breathtaking!!!!

What lovely colors; the water is so green but in a very pretty way. The contrast between the dry rocks and the ones in the water is pretty amazing; especially considering that the water doesn’t look so deep.
