Dropped my partner of at his depot early this morning. It was a very cold frosty morning, everywhere was white and crispy. I decided to call in at Clifton Country park near by to see if I could get some frosty shots while it was early and quiet.
Clifton country Park, Salford, is now a conservation area, the former site of Wet Earth Colliery. It has mining ruins, a lake that is home to swans, coots, Canada Geese, Mallards and other water birds. There are woods, fishing, birdwatching, the river Irwell runs through it, complete with waterfall, there are nature tours etc, etc. Rangers build homes for hibernating wildlife, and lots of other nature interests. The paths are mapped telling you about the wildlife and all the history of the area.
This shot looked ok on the LCD but looked terrible on the pc monitor. It was over exposed in the sky area and under exposed elsewhere. I played about in photoshop and then in picasa 2 adding various filters. I am not too displeased with the outcome, it looks ok as a Christmas card.
So this is my Christmas card to all my new redbubble friends, thanks to all who have given encouraging comments and advice. Have a wonderful Xmas.
