    Maria, you mentioned you like texture to draw on. If you haven’t tried it yet, you might like drawing over clear gesso which has a tooth similar to the sanded pastel papers. It’s clear, and you can apply it any painting surface that would normally use to paint on like heavier papers, canvas, primed boards, etc. I love it and use it in combination with painting techniques as well as on its own, with colored pencils.

  • thanks for that Cindy, ive only used gesso for priming canvases and only used the pastel primers for coating paper or mixing calcite into, this looks an interesting way to go…
