Profile
Born and educated in Sydney Australia, I studied Theatre and Film and Economics (strangely) at University many years ago but only in the last few years I have decided to pursue my passion for the Fine Arts after many years in the corporate world.
I have studied Fine Art at Kogarah Tafe and through various private colleges/courses in Sydney, but I am predominantly self- taught. Spending time in my studio is where I love to be.
My inspiration comes from past travels, people and sights which I have experienced in the past 37 years. The use of bright, vibrant colours and textures has always appealed to me, and I try to make use of these in all of my paintings. I have experimented with the use of gels, paste, tissue paper and sand to introduce texture to the canvas. This adds to the ‘3D’ effect and allows the admirer to ‘feel’ the colour. Currently, I am discovering various pallet knives/scrapers, and the result is a canvas which is also textured and thick with colour.
By selling directly rather than through an art gallery, I am able to keep prices low and am gratified by the enthusiasm and joy of those who receive my artwork. Plus, I can experiment with different styles and techniques and themes without having any restriction on having one eminent style to adhere to.
