I have always been fascinated by stained glass windows. The depth that light brings to the images and the feelings of awe when looking up at the rose windows in large cathedrals compelled me to find and use light in my creative art. Over the past 8 years I have been exploring an art form I created which I call fabric glass. My images are layers of fabric, some hand painted and/or dyed, which are sewn together and then cut apart to reveal different layers. When hung in a window these images glow like stained glass. These pieces take months or even years to complete, but the process has helped me to heal and grow.
