The Dom – Cathedral of Milan has a long history. In 1386, Archbishop Antonio da Saluzzo began construction in Late Gothic style more typically French than Italian. However, completion of the imposing monument is dated May 20, 1805, when Napoleon Bonaparte, who was about to be crowned King of Italy, ordered the façade to be finished. However, the last details of the cathedral were finished in the 20th Century.
