Puppet Master

To orchestrate my every move
My strings you pull so tight
Dress me up to your pleasure
Confident in your own delight
To be in control of every step
That I so gingerly take
Be the pilot of each tiny motion
My individuality you forsake
To place the words in my mouth
That I am allowed to speak
My own thoughts drained from my head
Am I really your puppet so weak
But with every night I sit alone
I am losening this heavy chain
I’m cutting these wires that hold me so
No longer in your restraint
For I shall no longer be controlled
By such a heavy hand
I’m learning to function on my own
Alone without you see me stand
So no longer are you my master
This puppet has soon come to be
You’ll have to find someone else to tie down
As a puppet I will never be free
