Lovely warm colors, even though its in a zoo it gives the impression of a hot African day and the lion is resting under a tree with the heat reflecting off the surrounding bush. Do I have an imagination or what?

What a beautiful shot! I went to the Zoo, many times! But once, when going by the lions, the male looked at me, and his growl made my hair stand on end! They are so amazing! I could not imagine how wild it would be if they were running free, but wished they where back in their enviroments! I like your work, and was glad you are working in the benefits of animals!

Darrell, I did take a very amateurish video with audio when the lions started up a chorus of roars and grunts – the bellows and growls that emerge from those big cats really resounds throughout the zoo premises and left me with mouth open and eyes boggling. It stirs up a primitive flight-response, I can tell you – I would hate to be a prey item! I might try to upload the video to the ‘net somewhere (but it was a fairly large file so may be onerous to download).
