This hotel is in the small town of Fairplay in Colorado, USA. originally a gold and silver mining town. I don’t think there would have been any difficulty in seeing the sign.

The Hotel was originally built and named the Valiton Hotel in 1873 it was burned to the ground in 1920 and rebuilt in 1922-3. It has recently been sold and the new owner is updating and refurbishing the hotel which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

I do love the different styles of pubs aroung the world, that’s one of the joys of this group. Nice shot.Looks like it could do with some maintenance.

  • Hi Gary, Definitely has that “lived in” appearance. Am off on a trip from Queensland to Tasmania soon and hope to get some typical “country pub” shots.
