This wombat was wandering over an open area eating grass and was quite oblivious to two very excited humans who were trying to get photos.

    So ugly he’s cute…..

  • Yes, they are not the most beautiful of animals. This one was eating the grass so fast it was like watching a motorised lawn mower in action. They are surprisingly fast on their feet though – considering their short legs. They are also very sturdily built – they do considerable damage to cars if they are hit.

    How wonderful

  • I thought it was wonderful too. I had not seen a wombat in the wild and this one was out in the open and totally oblivious to us. Then we saw the little one who was so sleepy he/she didn’t care we were standing only a ffot away.
