Plumbing The Depths by Marguerite Foxon

Dumpster in the Boneyard. Nikon D90 60mm macro. No tripod – I was standing on a camp stool, trying desperately to hold steady, as this was higher than my tripod would go. As a result this is not 100% sharp but the effect is actually ok with this shot. Large canvas print recently accepted for Gadsden Art Show, which is the biggest and most prestigious art show around Nth Florida.

dumpster, abstract, macro

I love macro abstract work of rejected and neglected items in our society, especially rusty old dumpsters (skips) around the back of buildings, battered boats up on dry dock, rotting wood, bark of trees, and so on. Im fascinated by the color and texture that appears with a macro lens. I do almost no post-processing after taking the shot.

Oh wow – particularly love the bleeding of the soft colours into each other – gorgeous

  • Thanks. This was accepted for the annual art show here in Nth FL that is getting harder and harder to get into.
