Best viewed LARGER format. Still working with local dumpsters (skips to you UK and Downunder folk). You’d swear this was a stone and cement wall if I didnt tell you it was flaking paint on a metal dumpster! I was pleased with this because I managed to get it in focus corner to corner, which is doubly amazing with the f stop set in error at 5. Nikon D90 with 60mm Nikon macro lens, on tripod. 1/400s, f/5.0, ISO400.

I love macro abstract work of rejected and neglected items in our society, especially rusty old dumpsters (skips) around the back of buildings, battered boats up on dry dock, rotting wood, bark of trees, and so on. Im fascinated by the color and texture that appears with a macro lens. I do almost no post-processing after taking the shot.

Love those dumpster shots! There’s almost always something interesting that pops out with a little encouragement. (I didn’t know a skip was a dumpster, so thanks for that!)

  • Keep on lovin’ ’em!! I love taking them though I take a gazillion to get three decent ones! Thx for the visit and comment AuntDot.

You have got to produce a book called Dumpster Art – these metal creative geniuses are coming up with some magnificent abstracts and you are just so skilled at capturing and composing them. This one is beautifully pastoral.

  • Funny you should say that. Ive looked at a site where you can publish your own coffee table book pretty reasonably. Thx for your lovely comments as always my friend!

This could be the ruins of an old Roman mosaic. I love the ancient feel of it.

  • Yes, it could be a mosaic … one edge of it … nice observation! Hey, thx for the visit and the fav!
