Another in my series of burnt out cars, shot on a hot humid Saturday afternoon. I find the colors quite fascinating … dozens of shots yet all so different. Shot with Nikon D90 with 60mm Nikon macro lens, 1/80s f/16

I love macro abstract work of rejected and neglected items in our society, especially rusty old dumpsters (skips) around the back of buildings, battered boats up on dry dock, rotting wood, bark of trees, and so on. Im fascinated by the color and texture that appears with a macro lens. I do almost no post-processing after taking the shot.

This is fantastic Marguerite! Perfectly composed and such gorgeous colours and textures and patterns. Love it :)

  • Hi Shelly – have missed seeing you around – thanks for the comment. Actually, the orange should have a little more red in it .. seems a little browner here than on my screen or when printed. I like it a lot though so thanks for your comment and fav too!

Those circles do it for me! So neat how the heat produces such varied designs in the paint. Your composition here is wonderful!

  • Thank you … I am not that enamored with the title but couldnt come up with anything better. There is something about the circles that is really quite captivating.

This is great!! this reminds me of those sand sculpters we use to do as kids..where we took different colored sand in a jar..layered them then took a sharp object to make designs..love this..beautiful work.

  • Oooh, thats a great image Kim. I had not thought of that but it does remind me of that now you mention it. Thank you so much for your comment!

Marguerite, this is a stunning abstract. I agree with Kevin, the circles give it a special something to the composition. One of the best abstracts in here… a winner!!

  • Thanks for your wonderful comment Mariarena – youve made my day!
