I’m a writer and designer, living in Portland, Oregon. Just to experience the world at large, I make up great excuses to go to Ireland, the UK, Latin America and elsewhere.
A small group of us plans to go to La Chureca, Nicaragua, for about 3 months this summer. La Chureca is the name of the community at the city dump outside Managua. We’ll be building a ball field for the kids, building houses, learning more Spanish, teaching more English, and making art together. It should be a community-building experience for everyone.
