.. Child on a tetter-totter at the park laughing 22×30 …work was done on Cocquille paper…it has a stiple surface and it is my paper of choice usually..Helps me get the soft effect I want.. I like to capture all of my subject in different ways..To be able to see a part of that person and who they are.. I also like to capture movement to bring it to life. I .used watercolor and watercoolor pencils. they allow me to use water where I want it. The child is about four years old.
This was a commissioned portrait….This was a fun piece and she was so cute and just a little monkey…I didn’t want to give her back to her parents..I was really happy with my composition and I love this piece. It makes me smile when I look at it now because I can hear her laughter. So much so that .I use this image as my signature piece on my cards. I do a lot of commissioned portraits of children and in my personal work as well. The colors I use in my work are also a type of signature because it is part of my style..people recognize my work this way.
