Graphite and charcoal on cocquille paper
dimensions 18×28 young boy in light dressed in rags..Jackie Coogan
This is “The Kid” …Jackie Koogan in the Charley Chaplin films.he looks about eight or nine years old. He was also in movies when he was a man like "The Adams Family`…He was the bald guy…Uncle Fester
I use Cocquille cold press paper it has a stiple surface and I love the tooth on it…It helps me see the little details that I get like the back wall in this drawing…I see things in the surface…It’s strong and stands up to watercolor without warping. You also don’t get a shine with graphite. Unfortunately they have stoped making it and I’m looking everywhere for it.
Fine Art of Portraiture
Placed in Graphite Pencil top 10 Challenge
I used graphite pencils from 2H to 9B slowly building from light to dark.and charcoal in the really dark places…I never cross my paper after done unless I have a paper under my hand to prevent smudging, I also draw with quic tac…terrific stuff and an electric eraser that I can sharpen to a point ..I don’t use them to erase something to often
