Riding the Wave
BW photography, Ilford developing paper…It gives me nice tones and contrast that I want….This has studio lighting,..Open shutter to track light of sparkler she has in her hand….Studio was dark ..I told her to keep the light painting simple not too much and then I told her to jump and fired the strobe and to pick up her image.
Young girl sixteen, painting with light. . I shot ten rolls of film before I got what I wanted or until it dawned on me to use the k.i.s.s. technique. This piece was a lot of fun ….well maybe my model didn’t have such a great time…The whole thing was shot in the dark…. It’s amazing what the camera sees…I didn’t get to see what my image was until I got into the dark room…so there is a lot of trile and error here which explains why I used ten rolls of film. At first you don’e exceed…try, try again !
