A Crow feather in my garden – Tarlton, Gauteng, South Africa
“Place Crow feathers around the yard and garden to ward off evil spirits.”
Finding a glossy black feather from a raven or crow means “send a messenger to the unseen worlds for help or answers.” Which really means meditate on it to find the answers.
It is commonly thought in most cultures that feathers are symbols of higher thought, spiritual progression. It is said that when you find a feather on the ground it is a sign that you are getting a message soon. “Finding a feather” on your path tells you you are on the right path. Finding feathers around your home is also symbolic of having a lighter outlook on life or a particular situation. When we see feathers in our midst it is considered a message that we need to lighten up, not take things too seriously, and try to find the joy in our situation.
But it can also be that, either a bird is loose in your house, or a pillow exploded!

I am a watercolorist living on my little piece of African soil in Tarlton, Gauteng, South Africa. The inspiration for my art is the wonderfully rich variety of Fauna and Flora to be found throughout this beautiful country.
“There is a fine line between dreams and reality; it’s up to you to draw it.”
