“Merrily, merrily shall I live now,
Under the blossom that hangs on the bough.”

- William Shakespeare

I think our winter is on the point of turning now, it’ll soon be time for the August winds, but oh! how I LONG for Spring! New greenery and blossoms emerging everywhere, the garden abuzz with insects and birds! But for now I’ll settle in revelling in last year’s peach blossoms and hope that this year my faithful old peach tree in my garden (Tarlton, south Africa) will treat us with her beauty once more!

I am a watercolorist living on my little piece of African soil in Tarlton, Gauteng, South Africa. The inspiration for my art is the wonderfully rich variety of Fauna and Flora to be found throughout this beautiful country.

Wow this is amazing Maree, such a beautiful image. Spring won’t be long, winter always seems so long…

  • Thank you Andrea! My peach tree had beautiful blossoms last winter, and a bounty of fruit. The peaches weren’t very tasty, she’s very old, but the birds enjoyed all the fruit!
