Welcome, wild harbinger of spring!
To this small nook of earth;
Feeling and fancy fondly cling,
Round thoughts which owe their birth,
To thee, and to the humble spot,
Where chance has fixed thy lowly lot.

The blossoms on my old Peach tree last Spring, September 2010.
My garden is situated in Tarlton, Gauteng, South Africa, and even though this old peach tree is about 15 years old, every year she produces the most amazing blossoms, followed by such an abundance of fruit that my garden is over-run by fruit-eating birds (I am not a jam maker!), and those that drop to the floor are enjoyed by wildlife passing through my garden, like hedgehogs and tortoises.
