Tea or coffee being served – what is your preference? On my patio, Tarlton, Gauteng, South Africa
Over second and third cups flow matters of high finance, high state, common gossip and low comedy. Coffee is a social binder, a warmer of tongues, a soberer of minds, a stimulant of wit, a foiler of sleep if you want it so. From road-side mugs to the classic demi-tasse, it is the perfect democrat.

When it comes to tea and coffee drinking, I definitely have certain preferences. My main criteria is that tea is drunk out of cups and mugs are for coffee. There’s nothing more heavenly than a properly brewed cup of tea served in fine china. And the pleasure of wrapping your hands around a mug of coffee, especially on a cold, winter’s day, cannot be equalled!

I am a watercolorist living on my little piece of African soil in Tarlton, Gauteng, South Africa. The inspiration for my art is the wonderfully rich variety of Fauna and Flora to be found throughout this beautiful country.

Looks good Maree, I went to an art exhibition Thursday and saw two art pieces in the gallery by Michelle Thompson..Looked good and some lovely art but a little out of pocket at the moment with gifts for Christmas. Took a picture of the gallery but no pictures as requested. Will put the picture up soon. Shirley
Thank you Shirley, looking forward to seeing that! Have a great day!

Nicely done Maree, and just for the record I definitely a mug user. Like my coffee strong with just a pinch of sugar and alittle bit of cream. Every once and a while on a cold evening I’ll fix a pot and even add a touch of Brandy.
that’s the best way to drink it Jim! Here in South Africa it’s called a “hot toddy”! Thanks for the visit!
