Be a coffee-drinking individual - Espresso yourself!  by

Done with Coffee (Nescafé, black and VERY strong!) with a dash of watercolour on tea-stained Bockingford 300gsm watercolour paper

“A cup of coffee – real coffee – home-browned, home ground, home made, that comes to you dark as a hazel-eye, but changes to a golden bronze as you temper it with cream that never cheated, but was real cream from its birth, thick, tenderly yellow, perfectly sweet, neither lumpy nor frothing on the Java: such a cup of coffee is a match for twenty blue devils and will exorcise them all.”
- Henry Ward Beecher

Inspired by all the other coffee painters here on RB, especially the art of Barbara Glatzeder! Also see some of Brenda Dow’s coffee art, as well as Elizabeth Kendall’s Barefoot in the Rain. See also Dianne Ilka’s coffee rooster and other beautiful coffee art.

I am a watercolorist living on my little piece of African soil in Tarlton, Gauteng, South Africa. The inspiration for my art is the wonderfully rich variety of Fauna and Flora to be found throughout this beautiful country.

Now that’s real coffee art! I happen to be drinking a cup of coffee as I’m seeing this. No cream in mine, but the quote made me think about the taste of the coffee I am drinking. Love your title.

  • Thank you dot, glad you like it!
