Coffee and watercolour on tea-stained Bockingford 300gsm – 11″ × 8″
For the lost, hopeless and nameless, it might be a good idea to start talking about where you’re going instead of about where you are, and where you’ve been. Because, as you talk about where you are, or about where you’ve been, that’s the signal that you offer—and that’s the signal that everything Universally is responding to. That’s why it feels sometimes like you’re stuck on this spot. You’re not stuck because things are always changing. But if it feels like you’re stuck, it’s because they’re changing to the same thing over and over again.

This is superb. Relating to the quote and your prose, my only regret about getting married was having to relinquish my maiden name, somehow it felt as though I was losing my identity and I resented it. Now it seems to me that my name identified the me I used to be, not the me I have become. The subtle variety of the shades in this painting, faceless images, seem to symbolize the gradual changes in each of us as life takes us along our own individual path. The core of our being will remain the same but the rest will be changed by experience. The me I was, am, will always be just the colours of life will change. Alma
So pleased you like it Alma! My niece got married in the UK a while back, but she kept her own name and I find more and more women are doing this. Thank you for your lovely comment!
