Inspired by Moonlight by Maree Clarkson

I was inspired by Shakespeare’s poem “Moonlight” from ‘The Merchant of Venice’ and this is done from my imagination.

Here you go outdoing yourself again – what gorgeous colors. If I tried to paint something from memory or imagination, I’m afraid the paper would be blank! :) Very well done.
Oh noooo Marsha! But have you ever tried…? 90% of my work is from imagination, I use photographs or other references for things like animals, portraits, vehicles, etc. I used to think I could never do anything from imagination, but from painting en plein air, I developed a memory like an elephant! We would drive pass a scene and I just couldn’t wait to get home and put it on paper, remembering every detail on a tree or window or door. Give yourself a chance and JUST DO IT! And thank you so much for your lovely, heart-warming comment!
