Watercolour done on a scrap piece of paper while talking on the phone – Tarlton, Gauteng, South Africa.

“A desire presupposes the possibility of action to achieve it; action presupposes a goal which is worth achieving.”
- Ayn Rand

Structured doodling (with some left-over colours on my palette) while talking on the phone with my daughter soon turned out to look like a bookshelf! So I decided to add some colour and a few book titles and my own bookshelf emerged, complete with my Lever Arch file and set of Encyclopaedias!

I am a watercolorist living on my little piece of African soil in Tarlton, Gauteng, South Africa. The inspiration for my art is the wonderfully rich variety of Fauna and Flora to be found throughout this beautiful country.

Congratulations on the feature with this attractive watercolor! I wish I could create this well while talking on the phone!

  • Angie, some mindless straight lines down, straight lines across, some colour and it started appearing! Thank you very much for your lovely comment!

Originality strikes again!! Yesterday you surprised me with a still life and I recognized you on this one from the title before I even opened the image!!! So organized and I’ll bet they are not dusty!! Love it. Alma

  • An admission of guilt regarding the dust Alma – I LOVE open windows and doors and my housekeeper has her hands full trying to keep up with dusting – so now my motto is “once a week” is enough for getting rid of dust and not to get upset by it! I’m pleased you even recognised just my title, WOW! but I’m gonna surprise you again one day! And thank you very much for the fav! Hugs xx
