Taxi Cabs and Buses by Mario Marrkks
Any Am. metropolis San Antonio, Chicago, New York or Dallas on a rainy evening.
Taxi cabs and buses
crisscrossing and dispersing.
Since 911
There is a new heart
at every corner
of the city block.
Snail people,
home in bag
leaving…....
trails of stench.
Survive through
the kindness of strangers.
Every culture
shows its heart,...
tossing it into the mixture
of sounds and lights!
Casting the spell
of the city nights.
Cocky marionettes
at corners stand,
winking neon
eyes of blue.
Rain showers,
REFLECTING,
In Gloss Covered Ground…
CAUSING
Snow Static Vision.
HOUR of Frenzy,
the every which way;
We must get there.
Steel institutions,
dwellings of toil
towering aloft your head.
Glowing pigmentations
Speaking, suggesting,
imposing on you!
Getting you lost
amidst destinations of
Unreal Arrivals,
of panic!
Taxi cabs and buses
crisscrossing and dispersing.

“There is a new heart at every corner of the city block” incredible statement. I first visited NYC after 9/11. Great city. Great sentiment.
