I’m a graphic designer by profession but with a passion for photography. My Canon 400D is always over my shoulder and to be honest I feel naked without it… horrible thought I know, but I’m only being honest..!! :-)
I don’t like to think that I simply ‘take pictures’, as I try to capture moments and images and will therefore literally shoot anything, as many things catch my eye… and hopefully at some level, some others also get pleasure from my pictures.
I dislike photo manipulation where it’s not needed and like to capture things naturally, as in… ‘as I saw them’. If the shot is ‘meant to be’ it doesn’t require filters or otherwise. Only thing I do on occassion is convert colour shots to black and white and usually only if I consider it’s colour content to be distractive. I convert to black and white simply to allow certain images speak for themselves.
I don’t always get the chance to visit as often as I’d like, but when I do I really enjoy browsing through others galleries and mostly feel humbled when I look at other members pictures.
Regards,
Paul.
PS: I also have galleries of shots at http://www.flickr.com/photos/lensthat
