This photograph is part of an editorial brief. We had to choose a household item and write a story about it, taking into consideration, use, disposal and sustainability. The product chosen was the mobile phone.
It was an interesting choice as there are many issues involving mobile phones, such as links with the war in Congo (manufactures have been accused of buying coltan, a metal used in the making of mobile phones from mines controlled by militias).
There were other issues covered such as the lack of recycling and the fact that mobile phone are made redundant on average every 11 months.
