This was during this amazing aircraft’s first visit to Australia – its take-off from Brisbane en route to Sydney. It was a drizzly cloudy morning with lots of moisture in the air, hence the vapour in the low pressure areas over the wings.
What an amazing capture… well done!
cool shot, looks almost as if its on fire !
Thanks guys – it was pretty amazing to see in the flesh but having the sun behind the aircraft made for limited angles I could shoot from.
Very cool shot! One of my current clients is building a portion of the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The first plane was just premiered on 7/8/07 (787). It was awesome to see.
wow…looks like its on fire
Thanks Charles and Heather. Because of the sun angle I had to wait for the aircraft to fly past and beyond me for quite a distance. The result needed a pretty tight crop and it was taken with a very substandard telephoto to begin with so it was never going to be a cover shot! I’ll post some others shortly that had it more side-on but the sun flare causes some problems :-(
Wow this is amazing, well done to capture this
