    well done mantron, looks like a productive time at St-kilda.
    I couldnt tell if those where witches hats on the water close to bottom looks like sea-gulls

    I live in St Kilda Bruce and have seen gobs of shots of the pier. For mine, this is a very classy and unique capture.

    I think it’s an outstanding composition and I’m not quite sure why. Maybe the breakwater leading out of shot to the top right balanced with the strength of the weird scattered seagulls bottom left is what does it.

    Thanks Col. Its great to get a thoughtful comment from a local. As for why it works well – I’m not sure why myself, but your suggestions are as good as any. I have thought its partly due to the darkness top and bottom that kind of ‘shrouds’ the central image.
