APPARENTLY Can’t use the “G’Day Mate” wording !
some of us fellow members may of discovered a gentle reminder from to remove work from sale .
I had some products with this on them but i had a gentle reminder from Redbubble to remove or change it on my products , and so I did …..A company bought the wording out as a trademark . Dates show when the copyright is effective from .

Products who features products with the words G’Day Mate (,merchandise etc…Product titles etc …., that the use of the words is a trademark infringement.
The words G’day Mate in any form are covered by our Australian Trade Mark : 1257351 for head wear, apparel and footwear and covers all applications of the words on those products.
This term has been trademarked to protect the use on products we market. If you would like to use this term on items sold in Australia, we would be happy to discuss licensing. If not we ask that items be removed from sale ASAP.
So Have a GOOD-DAY-MATE !!! This is soooo not fair and is such a popular Aussi saying ! :( :( :(

this is getting out of control….when simple phrases are trademarked, will there be anything left for artists to create with that isnt copyrighted or trademarked??

A sorry state of affairs, I would have thought that a term in common vernacular would be unable to be registered as a trade mark, it’s a pity no one has the money to challenge it, I think the exclusive registration of the “ugh” name was ruled out…

It’s Un-Australian!! So next Australia Day I’m off to my $2 shop and purchasing my unlicensed, mass produced ’G’Day Mate’ T-shirt from China – which is a much more Australian thing to do.
