Amber in the making by mamba

I took this rare image while photographing a beautiful, rich Karoo sunset in South Africa. A tree behind me was seeping resin which caught the warm rays of sunlight and seemed to turn it into gold and amber. Who knows, maybe my reflection has been caught in the blob of resin and somebody in millions of years to come will find it and have me hanging around their neck. What a thought…..

I dont know about them but I would be most honored to where you around my neck! Beautiful capture, it is an awesome color!

    Hoping you are well!

  • Hi Tina, OK it’s a date, put it in your calender…29. April in about 2 million years from now. Very old specimens have been found with long extinct insects and plants hardened and preserved within them. Nice to hear from you again Tina and thanks for your lovely comment.
