Artist's Description

I took this shot in the graveyard of the Holy Trinity Church (Shakespeare’s Burial Place), Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire England. It was during the day, on an old gravestone, under a very dark shady tree. I didn’t use a flash or any other form of lighting so I have no idea where the reflection in this grey squirrel’s eye came from. He’s looking at me as if to say “Alas! poor mamba, I knew him well” spooky! Shakespeare was buried at the church on April 25, 1616. Alongside him are his wife, Ann Hathaway, his
son and two daughters. The church is about 800 years old.
