Chinese painting Along The River During Qingming Festival by Zhang Ze-Duan (1042-1107), on silk, 24.8cm x 528.7cm.
It captured the daily life in the capital city. In the painting there are 814 individuals, 83 cattle, 29 boats, more than 30 buildings, 17 bridges… It now serves as a valuable historical document.

I am in awe in front of such mastering of the art of painting and drawing.
Asian art has for a very long time shown their mastering of illustrating with such precision and on various support.
It’s a treasure to keep and show to the future generations and hopefully to continue to teach this art.

Thank you so much, Poupoune! It’s one of the few best paintings ancient Chinese ever did. The painter worked as narrator. He must had studies people’s everyday life for a long time. It’s such vivid presentation of ancient life. :)
