My name is Maileilani, but my friends call me Maile (Pronounced like Miley). I was born on the island of O’ahu but grew up on the Big Island of Hawaii in a small town called “Kamuela” known to the locals as Waimea. Waimea was a small little community which I believe influenced my love for art as the community in which I lived was also home to several local artists. I now reside in Oklahoma and I have lived here in Oklahoma City since 2002.

I began dabbling in photography when I was in my 20’s using a Voigtlander film camera as my first SLR. (I still have it too!) As life would have it, I became very busy and wasn’t able to pursue photography until more recently. I am now in my 30’s and finding myself having to relearn pretty much everything about photography. Especially since it’s gone digital. It’s okay though, because I’m having lots of fun doing so!

I work with a Sony A350 as well as Photoshop Elements 7 for my editing.
