Weaving a Creative Life Balance: How do you do it? by Sarah ORourke

Posted on July 28, 2011

This has been a topic on my mind and subject of MANY discussions for a while now, so I’ve finally collected my thoughts and written a blog post on how I think you bring creativity and meaningful work into your life in a balanced way.

I LOVE the creative minds here on the Bubble, so I’d love you to have a read and I’d be really interested to hear how YOU find your creative balance and bring meaningful work into your life. Is it still a struggle? And what are the things that help you remain inspired and connected to your creativity?

I’m already developing a Pavolvian response when I see a new posting by Siren Rising. I can’t even describe it correctly but a pocket of grace forms whatever is going on in my day and I enter the warmth and vibrancy of YOU.

THANKS so much for doing this Sas.

It’s interesting because your blog post comes at a poignant time in my life, i am transitioning, changing, letting go of what i once held dear to my creative heart and making space for new inspiration to flow, using my creativity in a more grounded and physical way is what is currently drawing me, there is also a sense of remembering…this so called ‘new form’ of expression feels like it’s actually more authentic and true to who i am, it’s who i’ve always been, a memory from childhood wanting to emerge and be realized. There seems to be less struggle and more flow, more ease which then ripples out to effect everything else around me X

  • Sarah ORourke:

I can really relate to this a lot. When I realised that I wanted to pursue a career that wasn’t the (strictly speaking) ‘creative’ path I had always dreamed of and always thought I would follow, despite it feeling right, it was a bit of a shock to my ‘creative self’. It was difficult to reconcile the fact that art had become no less important to me, yet I was choosing a different path.

But what it did was open up the way I define ‘creativity’ and what is meaningful to me. It really made clear in my mind that thought is the heart of creativity, and in that way, all people are creative.

Feeling authentic and true to who you are through your creativity is magical, just magical. Wonderful to hear you’ve found such an ease and flow. :) xxx
