Byron Tattoo
Black ink on A5 110 gsm Cartridge
Yet another “Byron holiday” drawing, from back in ‘07…
I was sitting in a cafe drawing this
... The waiter, Adam, happened to notice, commented & we got to chatting… He asked whether i’d ever done Tattoo designs before(i’m often asked this, not sure why?)... “Um, no”... “but i’ll give it a shot”... Adam knew he wanted waves, as he’s a surf instructor, as well as snow flakes & faces… the sun setting over the ocean & Byron hills came from another of my drawings done whilst up there.
We traded in coffees… which i know coffee costs next to nothing to make, but given how many i used to drink in a week i think i came out well in front!!!
I have recently added a little more detail to the original.
Another of the cafe staff purchased a print of this for the basis of a tattoo for her boyfriend… hopefully he had plenty of patience! Ouch!
Byron Tattoo belongs to the following groups:
* Painted Nature *, Doodle Do, Finks of Inks, First Things, I Recommend , Outsiders and thick black outlines Available for sale asGreeting Cards, Matted Prints, Laminated Prints, Mounted Prints, Canvas Prints, Framed Prints and Posters

Thanks so much Mary, you should see the “actual” view across Byron Bay, it’s my favourite place :)

Sarah ORourke replied
Thanks Barbara… you know i actuall have no idea, i lost his number & he doesn’t work at that cafe anymore… i know he was going to wait until Winter because apparently you’re supposed to keep tats out of the sun for the 1st few weeks… i wish i knew though!

I used to get asked all the time to design tattoo’s too :D
My brother once took one of my drawings and got it tatted onto his foot!! Never forget that one!
this is gorgeous Sarah… really beautiful work.
Sarah ORourke replied
Ha thanks Pip, ooh a tatt on a foot would be interesting!
My cousin also wanted me to desing a tat for him… i later found out it was for some competition on TV where you could win a trip to the US i think… little scammer he was!!! I would have done it but just didn’t have the time at that point!

I love the way the wave frame kinda looks like a shell too.
Sarah ORourke replied
Very observant Miss Pip, i liked that too :)X

This is a lovely sketch, great imagery, motion and perspective. It’d make a great T shirt, too.

Thank so much James, what a wonderful comment! Yes I have been meaning to do tees for ages… As soon as I get around to getting Photoshop I certainly will put it on one!
