About MagsWilliamson

Hi! I’m Scottish, I lived in London for 15 years & am now back home. I’ve always loved drawing, I’m self-taught, it’s just something I have to do – so stand aside!

I currently have a pastel painting in the East Kilbride Open Art Exhibition at the EK Arts Centre and will have another one in the 4th Chatelherault Arts Festival (much to my amazement!) on the theme of “Hopes & Dreams” which starts on 1st October 2011!

But it’s all in the eye of the beholder, so I hope you like what you see!

Aw, thanks Roger! I don’t mind criticism at all as honest criticism helps you progress, but I’m so pleased you think so highly of it, thanks very much! :D

wow – how did you get that texture?! Did you layer the colours or something. This is great, Mags especially the reflection and the little bits of purple.Beautiful.

  • Hi Julie-Ann! Thanks! It’s just pastels, this was before I blended it, but I prefer this unblended version! I’m just learning, but it’s fun!

Nice work! Love the sky texture in particular. By the way, could we be related, perhaps?!! Martin (Williamson)

  • Hi Martin, Thanks! Well I suppose all Williamson’s must be related at some point if you go back far enough! I’ve been doing a bit of family research and we were miners or farm workers who lived in Larkhall, Scotland for generations, but I’m holding out for something more glamorous if I dig deeper! :D

i think the colours and reflexions youve achieved here are really good, sometimes its better not to blend to achieve more interesting surface textures

  • Hi Maria, thanks for that, any advice on pastels would be really appreciated! :)
