Law and order Uk is a British drama based on the American series Law and Order and stars Bradley Walsh as Senior Detective Sergeant Ronnie Brooks, and Jamie Bamber as Junior Detective sergeant Matt Devlin.

The series explores the relationship between the Metropolitan Police and the Crown Prosecution Service, and the deals that have to be made in order to secure a prosecution.

Brooks is a recovering alcoholic, previously kept on the straight and narrow by sidekick Matt, who was murdered at the end of the last series in vengeance for an injustice against the brother of the perpetrator. Paul Nicholls as Sam Casey replaces Matt’s role in the new series and fills his shoes extremely well, while providing much-needed eye candy for the lady followers of the programme. Peter Davison, Harriet Walter and Freema Agyeman also star.
I just had to draw Matt’s character as he departed the series so suddenly and tragically.

Great Work,Margaret! Btw,I’ve watched L&O UK on BBC America cause I am interested in seeing the differences in the UK Justice System Vs. The U.S. I mean it’s basically the same but alot of the crimes in the UK are committed w/o guns & also the Lawyers(or Barristers) & Judges wear wigs when in trial. Also,I enjoy seeing the locations:-)

  • Thanks Robyn. This is one of my favourite TV shows of the moment. Just to let you know I’ve started reading Michael Caine’s ’What’s it all about’ and find his style of writing and story telling very addictive. Thanks so much for the tip.

Great art work Margaret, I haven’t watched the US version but I like the UK version.

  • I find the US version a bit too slick and fast moving. That probably shows my age. Thanks Neil.

Lovely work Margaret and even though I’m not acquainted with either country’s production the faces seem familiar, especially the younger one who reminds me of the ancient Dr Kildare in the tele series. Now thats really showing your age!

  • Oh my, I see what you mean. Something to do with the wide bridge at the top of the nose and those arched eyebrows. I’m not too satisfied with this one Gary. My confidence always goes when I’ve been away from the pencils, or anything else for that matter, for too long. Thanks for the fine comment, and don’t worry about showing your age by remembering characters from ancient TV programmes. Skills like that can be very useful for pub quizes and crosswords.
