Artist's Description

The Goon Show was a British radio comedy programme, originally produced and broadcast by the BBC Home Service from 1951 to 1960.
The show’s chief creator and main writer was Spike Milligan (centre), with collaberation from Eric Sykes. The scripts mixed ludicrous plots with surreal humour, puns, catchphrases and an array of bizarre sound effects.
This is a portrait of Peter Sellers, Spike Milligan and Harry Secombe, drawn with Prismacolor pencils on Bristol Board extra smooth surface, 200 gsm, A4.
Michael Bentine should also have been included, but I just didn’t have the space. Sorry Michael!
